If you are a college student, and live and/or go to school in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, or Martin counties, you can participate in the South Florida 2017 University Commuter Challenge. South Florida Commuter Services (SFCS), along with their transportation partners, is challenging university students to use an alternative mode of transportation from November 6 through November 17, as part of the 2017 South Florida Commuter Challenge: University Edition. SFCS is asking students to try one or more of the following: riding transit, carpooling, walking, or bicycling.
This year, SFCS is taking an innovative approach to the Challenge by launching a mobile app which will allow participants to easily “tap in” and “tap out” to log their trips, as well as track the real-time cost savings and environmental impact of their alternative mode use. The app will also collect data critical to analyzing current transportation systems and programs.
SFCS invites you to be a part of the solution by joining in the Challenge and reducing the number of vehicles on the roadways. For more information, please visit: www.sflcommutes.com or contact Jim Udvardy, Project Director, via email at jim.udvardy@wsp.com or telephone at 954-731-0062.
