U.S. Representatives Alcee Hastings (FL-20) and Ted Deutch (FL-22) will tour Broward MPO transportation and infrastructure projects located in their districts. The MPO currently has programed $5.2 billion dollars' worth of projects in Broward, including projects that Reps. Hastings and Deutch helped secure funding for.
Rep. Hastings will tour three project locations on Monday, August 20, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Tour will begin at the Nob Hill Soccer Club Park, located at 10200 Sunset Strip, Sunrise, FL 33322. Rep. Hastings will tour projects on Sunset Strip in Sunrise, NW 31st Avenue/MLK Avenue in Lauderdale Lakes, Oakland Park, and Fort Lauerdale, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Pompano Beach.
Rep. Deutch will tour three project locations on Tuesday, August 21, beginning at 10:15 a.m. The Tour will begin at Middle River Terrace Park, located at 1329 NE 7th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. Rep. Deutch will tour projects on Old Dixie Highway in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Drive/NE 4th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale/Wilton Manors, and A1A in Fort Lauderdale.
All of the projects on the tours incorporate Complete Streets principles. The goal of Complete Streets is to create a network of bicycle and sidewalk facilities in order to allow all residents to safely and efficiently reach their destination.
