The Aging and Disability Resource Center hosted the Broward Aging Network Conference (BANC). On May 21, MPOers Hannah and Charlene and transportation advocate Danielle McGill reached out to the aging population in Pembroke Pines to offer resources how to efficiently and safely get around Broward, as well as an outlet for these individuals to express concerns and ask questions. Other vendors at BANC offered attendees materials and resources on how to stay healthy throughout their golden years as well as legal resources available and tips on living with disease. Breakout sessions during the conference covered an array of topics including Do’s and Don’ts of Online Dating, Healthy Eating Tips, and The 2020 Census and the importance of participation.
The MPO team had a wonderful time connecting with over 60 residents of the Pembroke Pines community who stopped by the table to learn about how the Broward transportation system plays into their daily lives. The MPO would like to extend a huge thank you to the Aging and Disability Resource Center for welcoming us as vendors and hosting this educational conference.
