MPO and City of Hollywood Break Ground on Complete Streets

On June 27, 2017, the Broward MPO in partnership with the City of Hollywood, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and Broward Regional Health Planning Council (BRHPC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project. The Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project will transform Hollywood Boulevard from City Hall to Dixie Highway by adding a bike lane, wider sidewalks, new lighting, drainage improvements, and a center refuge median to provide better access and comfort for all users of the road. MPO Board Chair and City of Hollywood Commissioner Richard Blattner spoke at the groundbreaking and praised the partnership that helped make this project a reality.

The Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project is part of the Broward MPO's $120 million dollar commitment to building Complete Streets across the region. For more information on the MPO's complete Streets Initiative, CLICK HERE
