With the increase in Brightline passenger train traffic, the Broward MPO reminds all South Florida residents to use caution when around railroad tracks. Brightline, Tri-Rail, and FEC freight trains can run up to 79 miles per hour, and it is extremely important to be careful and alert when crossing railroad tracks.
Always look both ways before crossing tracks, and only cross at designated crossings. Never cross tracks when you see a moving train, or when you see the safety gates come down and lights flash. And remember- never trespass on train tracks- it is against the law!
