The MPO has submitted a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant to the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for its Regional Complete Streets Initiative. If awarded, the grant would help fund $19.1 million dollars worth of bike and pedestrian improvements in the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Oakland Park, and Pompano Beach.
The TIGER grant application is a collaboration between the MPO, the four cities listed above, Broward County government, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The TIGER application includes projects on Powerline Road, Riverland Road, NW 31st Avenue, Hammondville Road, and the Lauderdale Lakes Greenway.
