CSLIP Program Draws Applications from 10 Municipalities

The Broward MPO received applications from 10 municipalities for its 2016 Complete Streets and Localized Initiatives Program (CSLIP), the first year of the program. A total of 25 projects were submitted for funding, with each project receiving a score based on criteria approved by the Broward MPO Board.

The MPO’s Complete Streets and Other Localized Initiatives Grant Program provides funding for small local transportation projects which improved the safety and mobility for all transportation users in Broward.  This competitive grant program can fund projects such as (but not limited to): complete streets projects, traffic calming and intersection improvements, ADA upgrades, mobility hubs, bus shelters, bike racks and technology advancements such as transit signal priority and traffic control devices.

Eligible recipients for the CSLIP Program include: local governments, regional transportation authorities, transit agencies, tribal governments, natural resource and public land agencies, school districts, local educational agencies, and private transportation service providers.
