On Wednesday, October 19, community members, Broward MPO staff, partner agencies, and members of the South Florida Congressional Delegation attended a celebration in honor of the Broward MPO being awarded a Transportation Investment Generation Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant for its Regional Complete Streets Initiative.
The event was held at the C-13 Canal/Lauderdale Lakes Greenway on the border of Oakland Park and Lauderdale Lakes, which served as the co-hosts of the event. Featured speakers at the event included U.S. Representatives Alcee Hastings, Mario Diaz Balart, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Frederica Wilson, and Ted Deutch, as well as Lauderdale Lakes Mayor Barrington Russell and Oakland Park Mayor Tim Lonergan.
