The Broward MPO has won a 2016 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to fund five Complete Streets projects in Broward. The $11.4 million dollar award will add bike lanes and additional pedestrian features to Riverland Road/SW 27th Avenue, NW 31st Avenue, Hammondville Road, Powerline Road, and the Lauderdale Lakes Greenway in the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Pompano Beach. Only 7 percent of projects submitted to USDOT were selected for funding, and the Broward MPO's application was the only project selected in the state of Florida.
