How does the public get involved?
The PPP is a document that outlines how the MPO informs, involves, and engages residents, businesses, and stakeholders in transportation decision‑making.
The PPP:
- Ensures the public knows about transportation plans and meetings
- Provides opportunities to participate throughout the planning process
- Emphasizes inclusion of underrepresented and underserved communities
- Encourages new and effective outreach tools and strategies
The PPP is reviewed as part of the MPO’s federal certification process and ensures compliance with FHWA and FTA public involvement requirements.

Thank you to everyone who reviewed the Draft Public Participation Plan (PPP) and submitted comments during the public review period. The 45-day comment period closed on July 31, 2026.
All comments received were considered, and updates were made to the document as appropriate. The revised PPP presented to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC), on August 26 followed by the Broward MPO Board on September 10 for adoption.
On September 10, 2026, the PPP was adopted by the Broward MPO Board.
