Exploring a community looks different at 2 miles per hour. Since 2016 the MPO has partnered with local municipalities to host the annual Let’s Go Walking! Event to explore community assets and local businesses and educate the public on complete streets. This annual walking event focuses on promoting walking, safety and health benefits of active transportation.
2019 Let's Go Walking! to School in Miramar
On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, the Broward MPO partnered with The City of Miramar, Broward County Public Schools, and Annabel C. Perry PreK-8 for our inaugural Let's Go Walking! to School Day event. We also implemented our first of many tactical urbanism projects where we painted crosswalks and awareness markings where extra caution was needed.

2018 Let's Go Walking! in the City of Wilton Manors
The MPO's 2018 Let's Go Walking! event took place on Saturday, October 20, 2018. The Broward MPO partnered with the City of Wilton Manors to promote walking and exploring the City of Wilton Manors' many community assets, including the Complete Streets project on Old Dixie Highway. After the walk, participants are encouraged to join the Wilton Manors Arts and Entertainment Expo and experience all the City has to offer.
FREE Bike Valet was available at City Hall for event attendees.
