Royal Palm Blvd Safety Study

Introduction

Royal Palm Boulevard was identified as a high-crash corridor in three different locations in the Broward MPO's 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) making it a priority location for further evaluation. In coordination with the City of Sunrise, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) conducted a Road Safety Analysis to better understand the factors contributing to crashes along this corridor.

The three locations identified in Royal Pam Bouulevard were:

  • NW 89th Drive
  • University Drive to Riverside Drive
  • Riverside Drive Intersection

This study takes a closer look at how people move along Oakland Park Boulevard; whether driving, walking, biking, or using transit, and identifies opportunities to improve safety for all users.

The findings and recommendations from the analysis are intended to help guide future improvements that can reduce crashes, enhance mobility, and create a safer, more comfortable experience for everyone who uses this roadway.
