MPO Members Lamar Fisher, Dean Trantalis, and Bill Ganz are participating in the The Broward, Palm Beaches and St Lucie Realtors Summertime Municipal Series." The event features discussion of development, housing, economy, and transportation issues. Because multiple members of the MPO are participating in this event, it is being publicly noticed in an abundance of caution to comply with the requirements of the Sunshine Law. This event will take place via Zoom and is free and open to the public.

The Broward MPO, in collaboration with the cities of Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach, has launched a new rail safety campaign, “Don’t Risk It.” The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of reckless behavior around trains and railroad crossings and reduce the rising accident rates in the region.
On June 8, the Broward MPO was awarded a $15.4 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). FRA Deputy Administrator Jennifer Mitchell made the announcement at the MPO’s Board of Directors meeting.
Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick joined officials from the City of Pompano Beach and the Broward MPO at the new Pompano Beach Senior Activity Center to celebrate the completion of the $21 million TIGER and announce a series of recently awarded grants that equal $30 million to help create safer roads and better transportation options.
