Attend this workshop to learn about and discuss new insights for transportation planning and practical approaches to future-proofing design.
Topics to be covered include policy strategies to work with private operators, street design to accommodate new technology enabled mobility in the public right-of-way, and safety and equity considerations for AVs. The workshop will include presentations by national experts as well as small-group exercises to test ideas shared during the workshop training.

The Broward MPO, in collaboration with the cities of Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach, has launched a new rail safety campaign, “Don’t Risk It.” The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of reckless behavior around trains and railroad crossings and reduce the rising accident rates in the region.
On June 8, the Broward MPO was awarded a $15.4 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). FRA Deputy Administrator Jennifer Mitchell made the announcement at the MPO’s Board of Directors meeting.
Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick joined officials from the City of Pompano Beach and the Broward MPO at the new Pompano Beach Senior Activity Center to celebrate the completion of the $21 million TIGER and announce a series of recently awarded grants that equal $30 million to help create safer roads and better transportation options.
